Who is this artist behind Dionaea? Well, I am. As newborn I was given the name Svein Kåre, which is what I've been called ever since.

As a little kid I used to play and have fun all day long. Now, as a grownup, I'm in the fortunate position to work with something I like, in a multimedia company ( Boxer Technologies) and while I can't play and have fun all day long anymore, it's a good place to be.

So, as I have made this gallery you may gather that I'm interested in drawing, and making use of the computer in the process. I'm also very fond of the creation of webpages, there's many hours of fun when I get involved in it. Devoting a website to a fantasy flower might also give you a slight hint of me being interested in fantasy, which is absolutely correct. Together with Science Fiction, this is the genre of literature I enjoy the most. For some reason unknown to mankind, some people actually believe they don't like fantasy and science fiction...

But I don't only read, I also enjoy to write a bit. But there's so much else to do, too, so I've never had time to sit down and concentrate about just that - but that's the situation for many of the other things I do, too ;-)

But - how did I come up with Dionaea in the first place? Well, it happened, once upon a time, in my grandfather's house. There was a little blackboard there, the kind meant for childs, and I suddenly felt the urge to draw a flower. It should be a carnivorous one, and eat a lot larger creatures than some measly flies. Also, it shouldn't be satisfied with just waiting for the prey, it would have to be a bit active and hunt for it, so it needed some way to move. Legs, for example, struck me as a pretty good idea - well tested and working. But I'll let Dionaea tell the rest of the story.
