Gone are the days when high heel shoes were restricted to only parties. With the passage of time these shoes are now being worn to office and even in supermarkets or socializing in a restaurant or bar.

A modern twist on the high heel shoe is that many of them (even the highest) can be quite comfortable as opposed to former designs. There are even athletic models. Lots of shoe styles in heels resemble clothing items; there are lace ups which take after the corset, acrylic models that look futuristic, and jewel encrusted styles that look a lot like decadent art pieces.

My belief that everyone can benefit from yoga is continually confirmed by the runners who regularly attend my morning yoga classes. They first come in with tight hamstrings, sore knees and stiff hips, unable to touch their toes. While some knees are still sore for these dedicated runners, after a few months I see visible improvement in their flexibility, balance and strength. I've asked one of these runners, Kathy Martin, to share her yoga experience.
